A 420 Doctors View On Dosing Your Dog With Cannabis

Dogs love to stay energetic most of the time. Apart from their strong ability to smell scents from a distance, they are also very intuitive. Today, canines are helping army personnel, police, and security officers on the frontlines. On one hand, they are always supporting their owners in the emotional dimension. On the other hand, dogs make sure that you stay encouraged toward practicing better hygiene. But, there is another side to the life of dogs. Sometimes, they have to face fear, anxiety, depression, and loneliness. In the worst case, dogs have to go through physical abuse.

Health Therapies

Nowadays with the help of 420 Doctors, most owners are safely switching from using pharmaceutical products to medical marijuana as a part of pet treatment. Cannabis use in improving a dog’s mental and emotional health is becoming popular. In many states of the USA, you can use a medical marijuana card and buy strains from dispensaries. Either use the same strains to prepare a dose, or you can also buy a particular CBD oil/product designed for dogs. Although, when it comes to studies there is very little actual scientific evidence that proves that medical marijuana has something to offer to dogs. Yet in a couple of applied experiments, it was found out that cannabis helps in treatments for osteoarthritis and seizures.

Ways To Administer Medical Marijuana Use

There are different ways to give medical marijuana to a canine. So, depending on the mood of your pet you can always switch from practicing one way to another. All methods mentioned in this section are safe for dogs.

Directly apply it inside of dog’s mouth

The first method is completely raw. Based on the planned dose, this is perhaps going to be the easiest way. First, fill the dropper with a prescribed amount of medical marijuana. Next, gently hold your dog, and insert the dropper into the mouth. Go as back as you can comfortably and squeeze the dropper.

Treat Bait

A delicious treat can be used as bait. Preferably use the one which can easily absorb oil. To make a good bait you should wait for a couple of minutes after you soaked it with the oil. This way works effectively for all breeds, especially for small dogs like beagles. Since some breeds are notorious, avoid using a dropper.

Mix it in the food

Wet food works best for this method. First, start by making a small dose of food mixed with medical marijuana. Your pet might take some time to develop taste for it, once that happens you can always increase the quantity. Ensure that you choose a tasty treat, to begin with, otherwise your dog would not consume it.

Dogs are great communicators of love, affection, and joy. But, they might not be that awesome when it comes to telling about their discomfort. As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to understand such signals and take care of them. Medical marijuana would work for most dogs, yet as a best practice always first seek a prescription from a certified doctor.
